Police Seized your Vehicle Without Being Charged With a Crime

Transcript

If your vehicle has been seized by the police but you have not yet been charged, there are a couple of avenues that we could try to take. The first is having a discussion with the police department about what they plan on doing with your vehicle. It's important to understand that they have the ability to seize that vehicle if they have probable cause or a reasonable belief that that car was involved in some type of criminal activity. That same probable cause will be used to obtain a search warrant to search that car if you don't give them consent, which we would not give. So it's important that you hire an experienced attorney who has dealt with the police department, who has dealt with the prosecutors, who has dealt with the judge there in order to try to get that car back without it being searched.
