State v. LD (2026)
Charged with Credit Card Theft, a 4th degree offense contrary to NJSA 2C:21-6c(1) and Forgery, a 4th degree offense, contrary to NJSA 2C:21-1a(3).
LD was accused of opening a credit card in the victim’s name and then obtaining a card under the same account in their own name. LD also paid all the bills for this card. Victim alleged they were not aware of this credit card being opened in their name. A thorough investigation by this office proved the victim was well aware this was done and furthermore, was for their benefit.
All charges were dismissed and the expunged.
