Second-Degree CDS and Child Endangerment Charges Dismissed After Firm Investigation

State v. SGO (2018)

SGO was charged with numerous CDS offenses, pursuant to NJSA 2C:35-5. This included second, third-, and fourth-degree offenses. SGO was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a second-degree offense., contrary to NJSA 2C:24-4a(2). The second-degree offenses carry mandatory penalties of between 5 and 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

SGO was at a residence raided by the police with a search warrant. It was alleged SGO was distributing narcotics and a child was in the home. After an exhaustive investigation, Jason A. Volet secured the dismissal of all charges.
