If you have compromising information about a person and there's any thought in your mind that you are going to use that information for some sort of financial gain, I would caution you not to do something like that, as you could be charged with theft by extortion. It's important that you hire somebody if you've already been charged with that, or you've done something like that, or if you're being accused of doing something like that, to hire an attorney who has experience dealing with the office, dealing with the types of charges that you're facing, in order to get out in front of it and hopefully get you the best possible deal or end up having to try the case.
