I see in a lot of cases where a person is charged with tampering or, you know, is basically toeing the line of being charged with a tampering, and it's very important to understand that if you've been charged with an offense and there are maybe witnesses in that offense, that you are not contacting them in order to try to get them to drop those charges or in order to change their testimony or things of that nature. Even if you are maybe not guilty of the original offense, you could be found guilty of a tampering charge depending on what type of tampering charge it is. You could wind up in prison, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. So it's important that, one, you don't engage in this type of behavior, but if you're being accused by somebody, especially a witness, of engaging in that type of behavior, that you hire an attorney who has dealt with these types of charges before, who has dealt with the prosecutor's office before, and who is familiar with the system in order to ensure the best possible outcome for you.
